Request for Bids: Municipal Building Janitorial Services 2026

REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS
VILLAGE OF CANASTOTA AND TOWN OF LENOX
2027-2028 MUNICIPAL BUILDING JANITORIAL SERVICES CONTRACT

The Village of Canastota and Town of Lenox are requesting sealed bids for janitorial services for the Canastota-Lenox Municipal Building, located at 205 South Peterboro Street in Canastota, New York. Specifications can be obtained at the Office of the Village Clerk Monday through Friday, excluding holidays, from 8:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or at Canastota.gov.

All proposals for a two-year contract must be submitted in writing in a sealed envelope and returned to the village office by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2026. Bids will be publicly opened and recorded on November 18, 2026 at the 7:00 p.m. Village of Canastota Board of Trustees meeting. The winning bidder will be notified by email or telephone.

The winning bidder must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor Contractor Registry to perform public work and must agree to prevailing wage and other federal, state and local employment requirements. The Prevailing Rate Case (PRC) number is 2026901890. A certificate of insurance for $1,000,000 of coverage and a bid security deposit of $200 must be included in the sealed bid packet. The deposit is payable by check to the Village of Canastota. Checks will be returned to all bidders after the completion of the bid process.

Prospective bidders interested in a walkthrough of the municipal building should contact the Village Administrator to schedule a visit prior to November 6, 2026. Minority- and women-owned businesses are strongly encouraged to bid.

The Village of Canastota and Town of Lenox reserve the right to reject any or all bids for any reason and readvertise the same.
