Canastota celebrates USA’s 250th birthday July 22-26
CANASTOTA, NY – In celebration of the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the Village of Canastota is partnering with several organizations for a five-day schedule of “America 250” events in our community.
These events are intended to showcase our community spirit and togetherness as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the founding of our nation. The organizing committee, consisting of volunteers from local agencies and organizations, has planned the following events throughout the week of July 22-26, 2026:
WEDNESDAY, JULY 22
“Red, White and Pool” kids party
Canastota Village Pool – 100 Spencer Street

Music, free open swim, snacks, games, sprinkler provided by Canastota Fire Dept.
THURSDAY, JULY 23
“Canastota Community Carnival” day 1

Rides and games by Ontario Amusements
Concession stand by the Canastota Fire Department
– Serving hot dogs, burgers, sausage sandwiches, chicken tenders, fries, shrimp, and drinks –

Family friendly – No alcohol allowed
*Free parking for all three days for the carnival will be available on the Canastota Dairy lawn at the corner of Hickory Street and Main Street, across the street from ZEMs. The carnival organizers would like to thank Canastota Dairy for allowing the use of their field.

*Ride tickets are $1.00 each, and the rides take four or five tickets. An unlimited ride wristband will be available for $25 for one four-hour session. There are two separate ride sessions on Saturday: 1:00p – 5:00p and 6:00p – 10:00p.
