REQUEST FOR SEALED BIDS
2026 STREET PAVING CONTRACT
The Village of Canastota is requesting sealed bids for the 2026 street paving project. Interested contractors should provide itemized quotes to pave the following streets:
– Clark Street from Roberts Street to Canal Street (1,169 feet x 26 feet)
– Mill 3 inches. Repave with 1.5 inches of type 3 binder and 1.5 inches of modified binder.
– First Street from Tuttle Avenue to Will New Blvd. (1,495 feet x 27 feet)
– Only mill the approach and ends of driveways. Add 2 inches of modified binder.
– Ravine Street from First Street for 30 feet north (30 feet x 40 feet)
– No milling necessary. Add 2 inches of modified binder.
– Tuttle Avenue from First Street to Third Street (780 feet x 30 feet)
– Mill 3 inches. Repave with 1.5 inches of type 3 binder and 1.5 inches of modified binder.
– Mill 2 inches and pave 2 inches of modified binder for sections of the following streets:
– Madison Boulevard (25 feet x 145 feet near 1 Madison Blvd., marked by village DPW)
– Madison Boulevard (12 feet x 17 feet near 51 Madison Blvd., marked by village DPW)
– Technology Boulevard (4 feet x 100 feet and 5 feet x 30 feet, marked by village DPW)
– Dominic Bruno Boulevard (8 feet x 100 feet, marked by village DPW)
The winning bidder shall provide traffic control personnel and signage for the duration of the project. The Village shall retain ownership of all millings.
Interested contractors should contact the Office of the Village Administrator at village@canastota.com for an official bid form. All sealed bids must be itemized by individual street, submitted in writing in a sealed envelope, and returned to the village office by 4:00 p.m. on August 5, 2026. Bids will be publicly opened and recorded on August 5, 2026 at the Board of Trustees’ regular 7:00 p.m. meeting. The winning bidder will be notified by email or telephone.
A bid security in the form of a bid bond, certified check, or bank cashier/teller/treasurer’s check payable to the Village of Canastota in the amount of 5% of the total bid price must accompany each bid as a guarantee that if the proposal is accepted a contract will be entered into. Bid security deposits will be returned to all unsuccessful bidders after the completion of the bid process. A performance bond and labor & materials bond shall be submitted by the successful bidder simultaneously with the delivery of the executed contract. The amount of said bond to be 100% of the bid. This bond will assure the Village that the contractor shall perform and fulfill all undertakings, covenants, terms, conditions and agreements of the contract including any duly authorized modifications.
The winning bidder must be registered with the New York State Department of Labor and must agree to NYS prevailing wage requirements and other federal, state and local employment requirements. Prevailing Rate Case (PRC) #2026018147. A certificate of insurance for $1,000,000 of coverage must be included in the sealed bid packet.

Minority- and women-owned businesses are encouraged to bid. The Village of Canastota reserves the right to reject any or all bids for any reason and readvertise the same.
